How to give an agency access to your Meta Business account

When working with an agency like The Social Ad Squad for the very first time, you will be asked to give access to your Meta Business Manager and ad account to get started.

By the way, it’s not great practice for an agency to run ads for you from their own account because if you decide you don’t want to work with them in the future, you could lose access to all of the data.

It’s a big no no for us and we encourage our clients to have their own account and provide us with access as partners.

Once we have access we can help you set up ads, manage your pixel and more depending on the level of access given.

Here’s a quick guide on how to give an agency access to your Meta Business account:

01. Log into your Meta Business account: https://business.facebook.com

02. Go to the “Settings” page.

03. Click on “People” in the left-hand menu.

04. Then click the blue ‘Add”button

05. Enter the agency’s rep’s email address.

06. Select the level of access you want to grant the agency (we typically ask you to add us as admins here at The Social Ads Squad).

07 ..Click the blue “Invite” button

The user you invited will then get an invite and join soon after. You’ll be able to see if they have accepted the request in the user section.

It’s important to note that when you grant an agency access to your Meta Business account, they will have the ability to make changes to your business’s information.

Be sure to trust the agency and only grant access to those you feel comfortable giving it to (like The Social Ads Squad!)

Do not give access to anyone you do not know and if you have not pre-agreed to provide access to.

You can also remove the agency’s access by going to the “Users” tab in the settings menu and managing their access there if you need to remove anyone.

If you have any issues inviting the user then we always find that jumping on a quick screen share calls resolves the issue in minutes (it’s the type of thing we do at SAS!)

Have fun, stay safe and well done for getting help with your account!
